about

Sandhill cranes are a gorgeous bird that have a great migration in search of wetlands. Late this summer, I saw a mating pair (two birds that will travel with each other every season) in a field. The next day, while on an evening jog, I ran by a sprinkler head pouring water straight into the gutter. The idea that water could be so blatantly wasted when so many animals/people like those two birds rely on it and expect it to be there when they return from their annual migration was devastating.
